S14 SR20DET comes in two types: blacktop 94-96, blacktop 97-98 S15 SR20DET comes in one type: 99-02 blacktop. The 91-96 S13 SR are all the same, the 96-98 ones have slightly different electronics but is mechanically the same as the rest of the S13 SR.
btw, blacktop is a never engine. blacktop will fit in the 240sx as well as any redtop. if you will be upgrading parts on it i think they are equally potent. blacktops usually have less miles on them. the best match for your US 240sx is whatever you wanna put in it, lol. you can put a S14 or S15 motor if you like. all sr20det's will fit inthe ...

If you live outside the US, then the S13 and S14 available to you either has a CA18DET or an SR20DET. Both of which come with a turbocharger, putting them miles ahead of the KA24 despite their lack of displacement. Early models came with the CA18, and older models came with the SR20. I use wiring specialties all the time for connectors (the oil pressure sensor connector and mafs connector on this engine are from them) and if I didn't already have a useable harness I would definitely get my harness from them. This harness is installed and 90% wired.

The S13 blacktop and redtop are otherwise the same (apart from wiring differences in the J7 ecu'd versions) The S14 blacktop has a T28, VVT ... makes 217 hp (220 ps) and has 370cc injectors. I wouldn't waste your time with the S14 engine ...
